Foxygen might participate in Flaming Lips-organized Beatles cover album

This would be fun — The Flaming Lips are organizing a cover album of songs from The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and they want Foxygen to play a track:

The Flaming Lips have recruited artists including MGMT, Tame Impala and Miley Cyrus for a remake of The Beatles’ album ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips revealed in a new interview that Coyne is contacting Tame Impala, Phantogram and Foxygen to possibly contribute, while New Fumes and Brooke Kelty have also tweeted about their involvement.

“I’ve been doing stuff with Foxygen, they’re my favourite band at the moment,” Drozd told Rock Sucker. “We’re trying to get them to do a Sgt. Pepper track.”

Assuming this happens, the question then becomes which track they’ll get. (Personally, I’d love to hear what they would do with Good Morning Good Morning, )
